Mounties are encouraging parents to keep a close eye on what their children are doing online in 2019.
The RCMP’s Internet Child Exploitation Unit recently identified four children between ages 8 and 12 in New Brunswick who voluntarily shared nude pictures or videos of themselves on various websites.

Police say the children are confirmed to be safe.
Sergeant Chantal Farrah says it’s, unfortunately, becoming more common for children to share explicit material online and it can’t always be removed.
Farrah adds it is a child pornography offence for anyone under 18 to share such images or videos.
RCMP urge parents to talk to children about what’s appropriate and what’s not online, monitor websites children are visiting and regularly check electronic devices.
