The chair of Bell Let’s Talk, the company’s effort to remove the stigma and see employers and government boost mental health funding, believes we’re making progress in this country.
We’ve just launched our annual $2 million Community Fund for 2019. Applications for grants are now being accepted for local mental health initiatives that improve access to care. To learn more or apply for funding before March 15, visit: https://t.co/BhJd88sG2W. pic.twitter.com/HNTqqGDzoR

Mary Deacon says the focus remains on removing the stigma and working with youth for the 9th annual event later this month.
“One of the important initiatives that we are doing this year and we are building on what we have done in the past is focusing on young people, and we are working very closely with colleges and universities,” stated Deacon.
Deacon says ” The focus remains on anti-stigma, but we build on and enhance what we do every year.”
Deacon has a personal connection to the subject having lost two brothers to suicide, 12 years apart.
Last year, Bell Let’s Talk day raised over 6-million dollars for mental health funding, this year it will be held on January 30th.
