Back from a trip to Saskatchewan where he touted the benefits of the Energy East Pipeline, our Premier is on the road again.
Blaine Higgs is headed to Washington D.C to meet with the National Governors Association during their 2019 gathering.
Higgs says ” I will be attending a number of meetings and discussing items of importance to New Brunswickers, including unfair trade actions against our softwood lumber industry.”
Higgs says his number one priority is to get some movement on the softwood lumber issue such as an exclusion for New Brunswick from unfair trade actions.
“As a trade-dependent province, New Brunswick values that relationship but we want to be sure that our concerns about challenges we face are heard and addressed,” stated Higgs.
Premier Higgs is also expected to discuss issues such as energy and trade opportunities besides softwood lumber with the Association.
