Another local charity has been given a nice big cheque from the group 100 Women Who Care of Greater Saint John.
The group heard five-minute pitches from three charities at there quarterly meeting at Lily Lake Pavillion last evening.
They were from The Salvation Army, Meals and Wheels and the winner was St. John the Baptist/King Edward School Lunch Program.
Founder Debbie Rathwell says they gave the group a cheque for $23,700 and this now brings there total given after 24 quarterly events to $574,985.
The group will be celebrating its sixth anniversary at its next quarterly meeting.
