It’s that time of the year again, The Battle of 506 in the National Basketball League. The Moncton Magic are taking on the Saint John Riptide on Friday night and Coach Nelson Terroba is hoping for a big crowd.
“Let folks have a chance to celebrate a high level of basketball here in the city, support our guys in a good rivalry game, last year we had 6,000 fans at Harbour Station.” stated coach Terroba.
Mayor Don Darling is again spearheading the drive to have a packed house and Terroba says that is really appreciated by the Riptide.
“He has been visible on social media spreading the word via Twitter and Facebook and I know he has made a commitment that if we get 5,000 fans that he will shave his head at halftime which is very cool of him,” says Terroba.
The Battle of 506 tip-off time is 7 PM on Friday, March 1.
