RCMP are warning the public about a new, viral challenge on social media that is targeting children.
The “MOMO Challenge” sends kids disturbing images and then asks them to complete dangerous tasks.
If they don’t, they are told the woman will visit at night or a curse will be put on them.
Corporal Jennifer Clarke says they haven’t seen or heard of any cases yet.
“We can understand how a child would feel that they should probably go do that task to avoid being haunted or scared. We are asking parents to talk about it with their kids and not to share it.” Clarke says.
Clarke says if people are being asked to complete tasks that are criminal in nature, they could be arrested and face charges.
