It is now legal to carry marijuana on board a plane within Canadian borders.
Spokesperson for the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority Christine Langlois says 30 grams of recreational pot is permitted in your luggage.
You can also carry up to 150 grams of medical marijuana with the proper paperwork.
Langlois says checking bags isn’t much different now that pot is legalized.
“Frankly, we didn’t see any significant impact on our operation for us, it didn’t change much, so we didn’t see a big difference,” she said.
“When we see something that seems to us to be potentially illegal, what we do is we call the police, and then the police decide is it illegal, is it not? It becomes their decision.”
You can carry cannabis in your suitcase or in your carry on bag.
Langlois notes marijuana is not permitted on international flights, even if you’re flying to a place where it is legal.
