It is budget day in New Brunswick and the new Finance Minister for the Higgs minority Conservatives is hoping it does get a good reception.
Ernie Steeves spoke to the media yesterday and says some may view this is a very tough budget, but he is thinking long term.
“What I want for New Brunswickers is a sustainable future for our children and grandchildren. I want hospital services and education for grandchildren and beyond and we have to take action now.”
Steeves says this government is not afraid to make the tough choices other governments have avoided the last 12 to 13 years.
“Every department has worked, every Cabinet Minister, Deputy Minister and the civil service have worked very hard to find efficiencies,” stated Steeves.
Steeves will stand up in the Legislature at 1 PM and begin to deliver his budget.
