A trial involving New Brunswick Southern Railway is slated to begin in Saint John provincial court on Monday.
The subsidiary of J.D. Irving Ltd. previously pleaded not guilty to two dozen charges related to the transport of oil.
The charges stem from a Transport Canada investigation launched following the deadly Lac-Megantic rail disaster.
Twelve counts have to do with not having all the required shipping documents for crude oil and the other 12 have to do with unqualified personnel handling the oil shipment.
According to Transport Canada, the alleged violations occurred between November of 2012 and July of 2013.
The trial is expected to last for five weeks.
