Illegal cigarettes seizure in Edmunston (submitted)
It’s a hefty fine for a 37-year-old Mill Cove man for having 110,000 illegal cigarettes during a traffic stop in Edmunston in February 2018.
Christopher Miller was charged after being pulled over by Edmunston Police and the Quebec Provincial Police and a subsequent search of his vehicle led to the seizure of the unstamped smokes.
Miller pleaded guilty in December and was recently fined $144,860 for transporting the illegal cigarettes and the vehicle he used to do it was confiscated as well.
