There was a very special visitor at the Saint John City Market on Monday morning. Siyabulela Mandela, the grandson of the late Nelson Mandela dropped by a for a quick tour.
Market Manager David Kirkpatrick tells us “He wanted to view some of the historic cultures and meet some of the vendors and business people”.
“We are very pleased that he chose Saint John City Market to experience some of Saint John,” stated Kirkpatrick.
Mandela is a Ph.D. candidate for International Relations and Conflict Resolution as well as a lecturer in the department of politics and conflict studies at Nelson Mandela University in South Africa.
Mandela is also expected to be at events at UNB Saint John today and the Fredericton campus on Tuesday.
