The New Brunswick Human Rights Commission is accepting nominations for the 31st Human Rights Award.
The award recognizes outstanding effort, achievement or leadership in individuals or organizations who promote equality and human rights in the province.
New this year, the commission will also recognize a youth or group of youths who are promoting human rights values such as respect and diversity.
The deadline for nominations is April 30th. The nomination form can be found here.
The award was founded in 1988 to mark the 40th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It is presented annually to commemorate New Brunswick Human Rights Day on Sept. 15.
Past recipients of the award include the New Brunswick Multicultural Council (2017), Hampton Elementary School (2000), and community activist Ralph Thomas (2012).
