The head coach of the Saint John Riptide is reflecting on this year’s regular season.
Nelson Terroba says it has been a good season in terms of player growth and development.
“When you see where are our guys and our team started to where they are now in terms of the way they play and how connected they are both on and off the court, it’s improved a lot over the course of the year,” said Terroba.
The Riptide finished fourth in the five-team Atlantic Division with 17 wins and 23 losses. It was enough to secure them a spot in the National Basketball League of Canada playoffs.
Terroba said those last few games before the playoffs are always tense.
“It’s definitely something that heightens you, but I think at the same time … you just have to kind of refocus yourself on what’s the job in front of us,” he said.
Terroba said they are thankful for the fan support and they hope it continues throughout the playoffs.
Moncton hosts the first two games of the best-of-five playoff series Friday and Sunday while game three is in Saint John on Wednesday. If necessary, game four will be in Saint John on April 11.
