By-elections will take place in seven municipalities on Monday, May 6, following Friday’s close of nominations.
One council seat is open in Saint John for Ward 3, with 7 people in the running: Anthony Capson, Andrew Costin, Katelin Dean, David Hickey, Frank James, Brad Mitchell , and Adam J. C. Salesse.

Ward 3 encompasses sections of South Central Peninsula, West and East areas of Saint John. The vacancy was left after Gerry Lowe was elected as a Liberal MLA last fall.
Black’s Harbour is looking to fill two council seats, and will have 5 people on the ballot: David Edward Boudreau, Heather Chase, Rick Liard, Guy Maillet, and Jordan Thompson.
Campobello is looking for a new mayor, with only two people in the run.
Following the close of nominations, a vacancy remained in the municipality of Salisbury.
One day of advance voting is scheduled for Saturday, April 27.
Election day is Monday, May 6, where the polls will be open from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.
