If you are one of many homeowners in the province that has been affected by flooding, the Insurance Bureau of Canada has this advice.
Amanda Dean of IBC says you will have some phone calls to make.
“Call your insurance representative about damage and losses, they will have advice on the next steps to take.” Dean said.

She says you should take photos of all of the damages and keep as much detailed information as you can including receipts.
Dean says it is important that you also check what type of coverage you have as flooding insurance is a fairly new product and not every insurer offers it yet.
