Saving money can be a tough thing to do but an App, that was created locally, is attracting users from across the country.
Quber is a free App that gives you a few options for saving money.
Co-Founder of Quber Jen Leger says the first thing you’ll do is create a savings goal, “It is in the form of a savings jar, so you’ll see little images of jars throughout the App. You will decide how you want to move money into the App.”
The first option they have is a round up program, which rounds up your purchases, and out the money into savings, “We have also done something called Tap to Save. Instead of buying your lunch, make your lunch at home and then go into the App and save $20. So it really makes you think to change your spending behaviour.”
The third way is the 52 week challenge, every week a certain amount of money moves out of your account into your savings.
She says many users like the fact that it is out of sight, out of mind, “Money actually moves out of your bank account and it moves in to the Quber vault. It’s always accessible, because people always have emergencies and need to cash it out, but it is less tempting. It takes 48 hours to get it back. Often people will just let it go, and it builds up.”
