It’s another sign that spring is well underway, the provincial transportation department will be removing the spring weight restrictions on provincial highways soon.
The southern part of the province will see the first removal come on May 12th and the northern part of the province the following Sunday.
However Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Bill Oliver says because of the recent flooding and fact the ground is still saturated in many areas, the weight restrictions will stay in place for secondary roads to prevent further damage.
