The body of a missing psychiatrist has been found near the Irving Nature Park in Saint John.
Dr. Louise Klipin was reported missing to the Saint John Police Force on Monday night.
Police said her last known location was believed to have been in the area of the park.
“An extensive search was conducted … by members of the Canadian Coast Guard, Ground Search and Rescue, an aerial drone, Saint John Police Force and our canine unit,” said Sgt. Jay Henderson in a news release.
Police said they recovered a body in the area of the park around noon Tuesday.
Family Friend Releases Statement
In a statement, family friend Jeff McAloon said Louise’s husband, Tony Klipin, is “devastated by the loss of his loving partner and collaborator.”
Tony went on to thank everyone involved in the search and said he appreciates those who have reached out with condolences, kind words and memories of Louise.
“As a mental health advocate, Tony encourages anyone who is depressed or in distress to reach out for help,” said the statement.
Police said an autopsy is expected to be conducted to determine the cause of death.
