The Crane Mountain Landfill is looking for a clay source for developing a pit at its current location and it is eying a piece of property and a public event is being held on Tuesday to tell people all about it.
Marco Sivitilli is with GEMTECH who are handling the Environmental Impact Assessment for the Fundy Regional Service Commission and tells us the clay source is just a couple of kilometres from the current site.
“It’s on Acamac Backland Road and is a privately owned property that is now wooded,” stated Sivitlli.
GEMTECH wants people to know this is not about any expansion of the Crane Mountain Landfill.
“This is developing a pit to support the landfill operations where it is currently located,” stated Sivitilli.
You have plenty of opportunities to come to check out the plan by being at Saint John Marina for an open house from 2PM to 4 PM Tuesday or the public meeting from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM.
