Harry Miller Middle School in Rothesay is changing field trip plans due to the recent measles outbreak.
It announced Monday that it would be cancelling the Grade 8 trip to Quebec scheduled for this week, following consultations with Public Health officials.
There are currently nine cases of measles in the Saint John area, linked to outbreaks at Kennebecasis Valley High School and the Saint John Regional Hospital.
Officials say given incubation times, more cases may soon appear.
Harry Miller Principal Bonnie Demmons says in a statement that the decision was not made lightly, and she realizes how disappointed students will be.
She hopes to offer a different special trips for grade 8 students in the near future. A refund will also be issued.
