The Canadian Nurses Association is out with its list of concerns ahead of the October federal election.
Spokesperson Josette Roussel is demanding all parties include a national pharmacare program in their platforms.
She believes all people in the country, especially those who they consider vulnerable, “require affordable access to prescription medications.”

The association also wants all Canadians connected to the Internet which will allow those in rural or remote areas to receive online care.
Roussel says “virtual care enables people, especially those in rural and remote communities, to access health services.”
In addition, the association wants all parties to keep climate change as part of their election platform with Roussel adding, “the federal government has a leading role to play in ensuring the health care sector is well prepared for the negative health effects of climate change.”
