A former long-time politician in New Brunswick doesn’t like what he is seeing coming out of Ottawa and wants to change things.
Stuart Jamieson has announced he is running as an independent candidate in this October’s Federal election in Saint John-Rothesay.
Jamieson says in his opinion our democracy has been turned into somewhat of a dictatorship.
“What Canada has fought for in wars, that the democratic rights, our basic rights of freedom of speech, freedom of religion and justice and equality for everyone and every province and those things seem to be under attack,” stated Jamieson.
He also says the whole affair involving SNC Lavalin should have resulted in prosecutions and has fallen by the wayside.
“I just feel there are some issues here beyond the trans-mountain pipeline or beyond the carbon tax or any of those issues that really and truly aren’t being addressed and somebody needs to bring it up and I’m going to do that” stated Jamieson.
Jamieson spent 19 years as the MLA for the then riding of Saint John-Fundy and held several cabinet positions and was a Government House leader.
