NB Power will soon be doing some major work that will see an undersea cable connected to provide the Fundy Isles with power.
The utility will be installing seven generators on Grand Manan Island and three on Campobello Island to act as backups for the permanent generators already in place.
The undersea cable is expected to arrive in August and the installation will continue right through September.
NB Power says it will be installing the generators in remote locations to lessen the impact of noise, but residents can expect to see a great deal of truck traffic coming and going from the island while they do the project.
