This is a long weekend and you can count on the Kennebecasis Regional Police Force keeping an eye out for any impaired drivers.
Traffic Sergeant Evan Scott says they caught one person for DUI at 6:30 Friday morning and with lots of activities in the area this weekend they certainly hope no one else thinks about drinking and driving.
“We want everyone to go out and have a good time, long holiday weekend and the weather is going to be good, we just don’t want people driving while impaired. You should be making arrangements to get a ride to any events well ahead of time,” stated Sergeant Scott.
The consequences Sergeant Scott says can be a loss of your licence for a year, your vehicle impounded and the worst-case scenario, an accident involving injury or death.
So their message is simple, have fun this weekend, but don’t drive impaired.
