The new non-resident user fees for Saint John’s ice rinks haven’t impacted applications for booking, according to a new report from the city.
The report highlights some of the comparisons between the 2019/2020 season and last year’s.
Of note, eleven tournaments have been booked in rinks this season, up from eight.
As well, an increase in operating hours has seen more early morning applications.
Last season, the city received 45 applications. This year, 38 have been received so far, with just less than 90 per cent of “Prime Time” ice booked already.
Further applications are expected to be received, meaning those numbers will go up.
All major leagues that booked last year have applied again this year.
A full schedule for arena’s this season has yet to be released.
