A man from Maine has been sentenced for smuggling child pornography across the Woodstock Border.
Eugene Williams, 66, was the subject of a Canadian Border Services Agency investigation after he tried to cross the border into Canada in April of last year.
During a CBSA examination, a number of digital devices were discovered and taken from Williams, and he was denied entry.
The investigation discovered images of child pornography on the devices.
Williams was charged with smuggling and was arrested in June of 2019 after trying to cross the border again.
He was sentenced to 12 months in jail after pleading guilty to the smuggling charges in Woodstock Provincial Court Tuesday.
