The Superintendent of Anglophone South is aware a provincial anti-abortion group rented the theatre at Saint John High for a movie screening on Friday night.
New Brunswick Right to Life is screening the film, Unplanned, which tells the story of a Planned Parenthood worker who has a change of heart.
Zoe Watson says lots of organization like churches and political parties rent space at schools.
“It’s not something that Saint John High School has organized or endorses nor Anglophone South but we did rent the facility,” Watson said, “When we rent a facility to a group, it does not equate with our endorsement of that film or our sponsorship or promotion of that group.”
The superintendent became aware of the screening a few weeks ago when posters began to appear and she has been sent some emails on this topic.
“I would say some of the communications we have received would be in support of that rental and some would be opposed.”
A protest is planned at the film’s screening on Friday night.
