Police are looking for an inmate after he failed to return to a community-based residential facility in Moncton.
Jack Woods, 66, had been in the community after being granted an unescorted temporary absence from Dorchester Penitentiary’s minimum-security unit.
The Correctional Service of Canada contacted the Codiac RCMP and a warrant for his arrest was issued.
Woods is currently serving a sentence for manslaughter and second-degree murder.
He is described as 170 centimetres tall, weighing about 220 pounds, with pale skin, blue eyes and brown hair.
Woods has a number of tattoos on his arms and is missing both pinky fingers.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Codiac RCMP.
