Aviation enthusiasts will gather in Greenwood, N.S., this weekend for the Atlantic Canada International Air Show.
Executive Director Colin Stephenson says they are expecting up to 20,000 people to attend.
“For the first time in around nine years, we have the U.S. Navy Blue Angels in the Maritimes. We are thinking this is the biggest Air Show act in the world and it is really going to draw the people in,” Stephenson says.
Typically the Air Show gets between 10,000 and 15,000 fans if the show is held in the Miramichi or Summerside.
The gates to the show will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
“Fans don’t get to see airplanes go upside down very often, doing the full aerobatic. The human fascination with looking up as they go by, even though they have been flying over us, for our entire lives, is still there for people,” Stephenson says.
