The Miramichi Police Force says it has received information that a missing inmate from the Dorchester Penitentiary was possibly seen in the city on Aug. 23.
Jack Dennis Woods, 66, is unlawfully at large from the Dorchester minimum security facility, where he was serving time for a 1976 manslaughter conviction.
Police say they also received a report of him being seen hitchhiking on Route 11 In Neguac on Friday morning.
The report indicated Woods now has a beard and he was wearing glasses. He is also missing both of his little fingers.
Anyone with information is asked to contact their local police force.
