It’s Labour Day today, meaning many workers will have the day off.
All federal, provincial and municipal government offices will be closed.
Expect banks to be closed, as well as post offices. Canada Post will not be delivering any mail.
Grocery stores will be closed, but the Saint John City Market will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
NB Liquor stores will be closed, but a number of agency stores will be open.
Many pharmacies will be open but may have reduced hours of operation.
Several other businesses may be closed or have reduced operating hours today, so it’s best to call ahead.
Saint John Transit buses will run on holiday schedules, which means there is no Comex service.
Compost and garbage pick-up will remain on their regular schedules.
For recreation, some community centres may be open. Contact information can be found online.
As well, the Hilton Belyea Arena on the west side will be open for a public skate from 3:30 to 5 p.m.
