East Point Shopping Centre will soon be the home of a new breakfast and lunch place.
Sunset Grill, an Ontario-based chain, will be opening its location in Saint John by the end of the year, the company says. East Point Shopping Centre’s site plan has also been updated, placing Sunset Grill beside Wheaton’s.
The restaurant chain specializes in fresh-to-order meals using healthy preparation methods such as flat-top grills, pat dry bacon and not using a deep fryer.
The Sunset Grill opened its first location in 1985 in the Beaches neighbourhood of Toronto. Today, it has locations across Ontario and Alberta. The company says on their website that they will be opening other locations in 2019-2020, but the Saint John location is the only new one listed to be outside of Ontario.
Andrea Williams, manager of head office operations for Sunset Grill, said in an email to Huddle that the location is expected to be open sometime in December.
“We are very excited to open a Sunset Grill restaurant at East Point Shopping Centre as this is our first location in New Brunswick,” said Williams. “Sunset Grill concentrates on high traffic and highly visible street locations so the East Point Shopping Centre, being one of the busiest retail communities in eastern Canada, is an ideal location for the start of our expansion into the Atlantic Canada provinces.”
