The cruise ship industry in Saint John could bring more than 200,000 passengers to the city this year but, it definitely will next year.
Betty MacMillan, the director of cruise development for Port Saint John, says they still have many cruise ship visits before the season ends.
“We’ve got 39 more vessels to call before the end of the season. Six of those visits are double and five of them are triples. It’s going to be a busy busy October.” MacMillan said.

Still to come this year, the inaugural call of the MSC Meraviglia and her 4500 guests, who will visit Saint John on October 4th.
“Just released last year and has never been to the region so we’re pretty excited about that.” MacMillan said.
MacMillan says there are 99 calls on the books so far for the 2020 season but it may change a bit before the schedule is released late this year.
“We could reach the 205,000 mark [for passengers] this year if things go really, really well but, next year we’ll definitely reach it, no question.” MacMillan said.
