The winners of the first 48-Hour Film Competition in Saint John have been announced.
The five finished films were screened at the New Brunswick Museum on Thursday night. They included Seeds We Sow, The Take, Follow, Reverse, and Cheat Day.
Seeds We Sow took home five awards, including best picture, best actress (Angela Tapley), best screenwriting, best music and best use of the inspiration package.
The Take won two awards — best director and best editor. Follow also won two awards for best actor (Kayden Tompkins) and best cinematography.
Five teams were given two days last weekend to write, shoot and edit a short film based on an “inspiration” object which was revealed to them.
Organizers with the New Brunswick Filmmakers’ Co-operative have said they hope to make the competition a yearly tradition in the Port City.
