The man accused of killing four people in Fredericton in August of 2018 had to be escorted out of a courtroom on Monday following a series of outbursts.
Matthew Vincent Raymond is charged with first-degree murder in the deaths of two Fredericton police officers and two civilians.
Monday was the start of jury selection for a hearing to find out whether Raymond is fit or unfit to stand trial.
Close to 800 prospective jurors were randomly divided into smaller groups of 50 people, with the first two groups set to appear at the Fredericton courthouse on Tuesday.
Each person will be asked a series of questions to determine if they’re eligible to be jurors.
The process will continue until 12 jurors and two alternates are chosen.
