RCMP are reaching out to residents of Nova Scotia and New Brunswick to help identify human remains.
A body was discovered on Sunday September 8 in Sandy Cove on the Digby County beach.
Corporal Jennifer Clarke says the RCMP is working with the medical examiner’s office and other partners to determine ways to identify the body and the circumstances that led to the death.
“We continue to ask that anyone who might have information on the identity of the human remains to contact Digby RCMP. Of course that would certainly extend to people that live around the New Brunswick area as well, just given the bay and the tides.
She wouldn’t comment on the condition of the remains.
“With sensitivity to the family of the victim, I wouldn’t want to provide any kind of information on the condition of the body. If people are missing a family member, loved one or someone they know, if it could be them, we want them to contact us right away.”
If you have any information you’re asked to contact the Digby RCMP at 902-245-2579.
