Brunswick Pipeline will be conducting a mock emergency exercise Saturday near St. George.
The routine exercise will take place on the pipeline right-of-way, about 12 kilometres northeast of the town, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Emera, owner and operator of the pipeline, says the routine exercise will give employees and emergency responders a chance to test response plans and communications.
Residents in the area may notice emergency vehicles and increased activity during the test.
Emera says they do not expect any traffic disruptions or impact to local homes or businesses. No natural gas will be released during the exercise.
Along with Emera employees, members of the St. George Fire Department, Eastern Charlotte Fire Department, and the New Brunswick Emergency Measures Organization will take part.
