A fire early Monday morning in east Saint John has three families looking for temporary shelter.
The blaze was called in around 2 AM at 6 Irish Rose Lane, off Loch Lomond Road. Saint John firefighters found a three-storey wooded home in flames upon arrival.
The seven people inside managed to escape and the fire was contained to one floor.
A firefighter had to be treated for heat exhaustion.
No word on the cause of the fire. The Canadian Red Cross is providing assistance to the families.
