If you haven’t taken many pictures of the beautiful fall colours, you might want to do it on Wednesday.
Heavy rain and high winds are expected to rip through the region beginning overnight.
Environment Canada Meteorologist Mel Lemmon says we should get ready for a blustery system starting with strong winds Wednesday night.
“Then during the day tomorrow, things will start to get a little worse with the heavy rain coming in for the morning. By the afternoon, pretty much the whole province will be rainy and windy,” stated Lemmon.
You might also want to keep a close eye on your eaves and storm drains because of this fast-moving nor’easter.
Lemmon said, “Most of the leaves are going to blow right off the trees, for the most part. I guess that’s a good thing and a bad thing. The nice fall colours may be coming to an end pretty quickly. Some winds strong enough to break some branches and do that kind of damage.”
Lemmon says theĀ fast-moving system could dump 30 to 50 mm of rain in just five hours and winds will gust from 30 to 50 km/h overnight and climb from 50 to 70 km/h throughout Thursday morning.
