It was a non-stop day for Saint John police on Sunday — even the K-9 unit was out.
It began at 5:50 p.m. when police say a shoplifter hit the Canadian Tire gas bar on Westmorland Road. About 25 minutes later, shoplifters struck the nearby Walmart.
Police say the K-9 unit was brought in and tracked down a man and a woman, both 26, who are now facing charges.
A domestic dispute call came in from St. James Street at 9:30 p.m, where a 71-year-old woman had an injured arm. Officers arrested a 72-year-old man for assault.
Police say the evening ended with an incident at a Union Street bar around 11:50 p.m.
A 27-year-old female bartender said she had been assaulted by a woman she had cut off from serving.
Police say a 34-year-old woman was arrested and brought to the police station to sober up until she could be charged with assault.
