The restaurants in Uptown Saint John will be super busy all week starting Monday as Chop Chop is held for another year.
Nancy Tissington of Uptown Saint John said this is the 10th year for the event, which features special meals at various restaurants.
“Go to chopchopsj.com, check out your menu, get a reservation. We’ve got several dishes, the lunchtime dish, which is $15, our dinnertime is $35 and then there’s a plate as well for $12. There’s lots of options out there.”
Tissington says you really need to be on the ball to get a reservation because this isn’t just for those who live in Saint John.
“I can tell you there are a lot of people that come in from out of town for this. They’ll start calling us, usually about three or four weeks in advance, because they’re coming in from Fredericton, they’re coming in from Moncton, and our outskirts,” stated Tissington.
There is not just great food but also a charitable aspect to Chop Chop.
“For every plate sold, $1 goes over to Lunch Connection. To date, we have had over $73,000 donated locally by our local restaurants for our kids,” stated Tissington.
