A 27-year-old man has been charged following a collision on Tuesday night.
Around 6:15 p.m., Saint John Police tried to pull over a vehicle that was driving erratically on Metcalf Street North.
The driver sped away and officers followed as far as Crown Street before backing off.
A few minutes later, they were called to Ashburn Lake Road, where a vehicle had rear-ended a dump truck.
The two children in the vehicle, ages two and five, weren’t hurt, but are now in the care of social development.
The driver faces a February court date for charges of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and fleeing police.
