A Facebook group with 15,000 people discussing gymnastics spawned an effort to help young athletes in Asia.
Nick Blanton of Fundy Gymnastics in Quispamsis, N.B. got a message from a fellow coach in Sri Lanka looking for leotards.
“She said they don’t have access to a leotard supplier within their country because gymnastics isn’t a very popular sport. She runs a small team and she was looking to see if she could get some apparel for her team”.
We have over 60 items that we are sending out to a small gymnastics club in Sri Lanka! 💝Thanks to everyone who helped make this happen, the kids are going to love them!

Blanton immediately wanted to help and the non-profit’s board supported the idea along with the team he coaches.
“And some of the parents in the club were superb are trying to track down and organize the whole thing. What started as… my own personal thing. I really wanted to do something nice for the gymnastics community. It turned in a whole bunch of people who just got involved.” Blanton said.
More than 60 leotards and other items will be sent to Sri Lanka and Blanton wishes he could be there to see the team’s reaction when they open the package.
