Costso stores across the country are recalling a brand of infant formula due to potential Cronobacter contamination.
The Kirkland Non-GMO Formula for Babies Sensitive to Lactose was found to possibly be contaminated after a Canadian Food Inspection Agency test.
Cronobacter is a germ that lives in dry places, such as powdered infant formula. In rare cases the germ can cause serious or even fatal infections in the bloodstream or nervous system.
It has also been associated with severe intestinal infection and blood poisoning, especially in newborns.
CFIA says there have been no illnesses reported so far.
If you think your child became sick from consuming a recalled product, call your doctor.
Check to see if you have the recalled products in your home. Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased.
