It is going to be a wet and windy couple of days across much of southern New Brunswick.
Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for Saint John, the Kennebecasis Valley, Sussex, St. Stephen and Grand Manan.
Forecasters say between 50 and 65 millimetres of rain is expected by early Friday afternoon.
They say the heaviest rain is expected Thursday afternoon and evening, followed by another round of moderate to heavier rain Friday morning.
“Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible,” said the weather agency.
Late Thursday afternoon, a wind warning was issued for Saint John, the Kennebecasis Valley, Sussex, Grand Manan, St. Stephen, Moncton and Fundy National Park.
Strong southerly winds gusting to 90 kilometres per hour are expected throughout the day Friday.
“Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions due to high winds.”
