Abraham Beverley Walker of Saint John has been posthumously inducted for his achievements as one of Canada’s first black lawyers admitted to the bar and his commitment to civil rights.
Lieutenant-Governor Brenda Murphy presided over a ceremony at Government House in Fredericton on Wednesday.
The Order of New Brunswick was established in 2000 to recognize individuals who demonstrate excellence in their particular field.
