Dave White, a former broadcast journalist in Saint John, has died.
White passed away Saturday at the Saint John Regional Hospital, according to his obituary.
Born in 1938, White spent much of his 25-year broadcast career working at CHSJ/MITV television and radio.
As news director, he hosted daily Maritime TV newscasts and a weekly news program called “Newscope”.
White also co-hosted the Empty Stocking Fund broadcast and the IWK Hospital for Children fundraiser for many years.
“His broadcasting years were special to him and he was very proud of the professional work of the on-air and support teams at the station,” said his obituary.
Upon retirement, White travelled to farms and small woodlots in Kings and neighbouring counties with a portable sawmill and sawed logs into lumber.
Visitation will take place Friday in Hampton and a private burial service will be held in the spring.
