There will be plenty of hot chocolate available Wednesday night for the annual unveiling of the Holiday Dreamland lighting display in Quispamsis, but no single-use disposable cups to put it in.
In hopes of helping out the environment Councillor Emil Olsen, who chairs the Climate Change Committee says participants should either bring their favourite mug from home or purchase a Town mug for just $10, cash only.
Olsen says “There will be tens of thousands of LED lights and the gingerbread cookies aren’t wrapped in plastic because less trash in the landfill means lower green gas emissions, every little bit helps”.
The big unveiling takes place in the Arts and Culture Park at 6:30 PM on Wednesday.
