A Moncton dentist is proving he can do more than just clean teeth.
Dr. Luc Sipkema recently produced a parody video of “Old Town Road” all about dental health.
He says he was in his car, listening to the song this summer, when the lyrics came to him, “I came across this line in my head. You gotta floss the back, where the gums attach. If that tartars black, I’ll ultrasonic that. It just kind of snowballed from there.”
It took a couple of hours to shoot the video at his office, that is located at the corner of Elmwood and Morton.
His staff, wife and even his son appear in the music video.
Dr. Luc says, “They were a little apprehensive at first, but after seeing it, they really liked it.”
He has no intentions of leaving his dentistry practice, he was just having a little fun, and wanted to show others that dentists are people too.
Dr. Luc joked, “I’ve always been told that I’m a horrible singer. So, this is sort of a new venture for me. I have no musical aspirations.”
He doubts his patients will ask him to break into song, while he examines their teeth, but if you ask him nicely, he may sing a note or two for you.
This may be his first music video, but Dr. Luc hasn’t ruled out another, if his “Old Town Road” parody gets a lot of shares and likes on social media.
