Parents attended a public information session at Bernice MacNaughton High School in Moncton on Monday night, looking for more answers about a recent case of tuberculosis.
But some left without getting what they were looking for.
One parent, who wished to remain anonymous, says there needs to be more awareness surrounding this diagnosed case.
During the session, Medical Officer of Health Dr. Yves Leger did not reveal the identity of the person diagnosed.
He stated that they have to respect the patients right to confidentiality.
Parents also felt testing needs to be done now, not in January as planned.
Notices went home to parents last week, stating that there was a case of the infection in the school community.
Tuberculosis is an infection of the lungs, similar to pneumonia. It can be spread from one person to another when an individual is sick and coughing, but it cannot be spread by handshakes, or touching tables or doorknobs.
